Yesterday, we kicked off our academic activities following the summer break with an insightful conference presented by Prof. Daniel García Rivera from the Leibniz Institute of Plant Biochemistry (Germany) and the University of Havana (Cuba). The event took place at 12:00 p.m. in the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Hall, located on the first floor of Building E (Chemistry) at the Burjassot campus.
During his lecture, titled “Peptide and Protein Derivatization using Chemoselective and Multicomponent Chemistry,” Prof. García Rivera explored novel chemoselective and multicomponent strategies for the derivatization, labeling, and conjugation of peptides and proteins. He highlighted key advances in the field, focusing on their promising applications in developing peptide-drug conjugates for cancer therapy, as well as new antibacterial and antitumor vaccines.
