AIMSE

This research group focuses on the analysis of the life cycle of processes and products, as well as on the critical evaluation of LCA results and methodologies. This includes identifying hotspots to improve the interpretation and prioritization of environmental impacts. Its main objective is to promote the selection of the most appropriate techniques for each case study and to develop advanced methodologies that represent a significant step forward in Life Cycle Assessment studies. Through this work, the group contributes to the transition towards more sustainable systems by providing up-to-date, comprehensive and innovative scientific tools.
Closely linked to this line of research, the group is also dedicated to developing more accurate and efficient methods for environmental impact assessment, while providing sustainable solutions to specific environmental challenges. This includes studies across a wide range of fields in which the group has extensive experience, such as environmental impact assessment, advanced determination of microplastics in water bodies, sustainability studies in air transport, renewable energy, circular economy and waste management.
